Measure Your LocalResponse
By Azam on May 11, 2011Local Response has changed the buzzd model of location awareness into measuring the different response across different social applications. The model is more helpful than being tied to a single location application such as foursquare or gowalla. LocalResponse goes beyond simple check ins and adds a level of intelligence to targets users based on intent to make offers based on user response on social applications: twitter, foursquare, gowalla, instagram, among others. The idea is to have highly targeted and location based response towards users to lead to future transactions by being relevant on their intent.
LocalResponse is free for merchants for now and will offer premium services based on brand focused applications. Local Response has made it simple for merchants with pre indexed terms. The site allows merchants to simple type their name to get started with the service platform to start targeting users.
LocalResponse is targeting agencies and brand managers with tools to offer greater service such as reporting and customized solutions for more specific targeting. The service will provide greater demographic information and segmentation.
Nihal Mehta, co-founder and chief executive of the company, which is based in New York, describes the tool as a “social advertising platform” that lets companies sift through the stream of public data to see who their most loyal customers are and send them coupons and messages on Twitter.
“It’s not enough just to show you who is there or using your product anymore,” Mr. Mehta said. “The next step is sending messages back and driving actual customers into the door.”
The results are impressive for now interms of response. The response in terms of click though is high as 60%. Already, LocalResponse has over 2000 local merchants running the beta release of the platform.
The company plans to release an API to public allowing developers greater insights to users.
LocalResponse is generating quite a bit of buzz in the media over their change of direction and new focus.
