JiWire Brings Ads on Location

JiWire recently announce the Compass product to deliver ads based on user location and using technology to pull in data to deliver ads and promotions based on user surroundings. The result in ad serving is more interactive and more useful.
The Compass ad can be delivered to a number of devices accessible to wifi: laptop, iPad, smart phone, etc. The Compass system identifies the locations and can deliver ad that expand once clicked into a more elaborate experience. User could have option to see on map location, product demo, and/or offer for consumer.
JiWire claims a wide user based of 40M users though partnerships through carriers and service providers that benefit through advertising revenues. The company recently acquired NearByNow to deliver ads or info on products in nearby stores and availability of item of interest through app or ad. JiWire recently signed a deal with Groupon to off deals based on location.
JiWire was founded in 2003 and last ropund of funding of $2.1 million in funding from existing investors DFJ, Panorama Capital, and Comcast Interactive Capital. JiWire has raised a total of $16M in funding.
