Google is very serious about delivering on Voice

Google Voice is an ambitious application from Google to address the market for telephony and voice applications. Google voice is a re branding of voice telephony VOIP application service from the acquisition of GrandCentral that would bring the power of personal phone to everyone. GrandCentral set out to replace, multiple lines through ability to use one number to reach multiple devices: phone, fax, and cellular communications. Goolge plans to to integrate GrandCentral and Google’s own technology and application for a more robust offering.
Goolge is making the application more powerful and feature rich. The ability to text message, recorded calls, and getting voice transcripts is very useful and powerful tool for users. The user interface resembles gmail and offers a way to keep tabs on various forms of communications for easy look up.
The combination of telephony and mail is an awesome proposition and natural evolution of telephony. It is close to the ultimate goal of convergence and keep the promise of the future of telephony on the edge of innovation. Traditional voice is basically dead and the future is here, and traditional carriers are going to be scared to the power of Google to dismantle the traditional hierarchy of the establishment. Google has invested larger sums in building out a powerful infrastructure to handle the large amount of data across the US and abroad. Google does not have to do much to switch on their voice application across the data centers they have deployed and handle much of the traffic on its own networks.
Google has a large arsenal of technologies that would benefit in their utilization over the networks that would benefit users in a unified communications offering. The promise of voice, data and video over the networks onto an array of digital devices is a very profound capability and service that can be easily deployed by Google. The gphone android is an example of a device that will utilize the variety of features and technologies and give the user a full feature rich experience. The business models of the various industries will change and unleash further wave of innovations in technology.
