AdMob rings in more capital to the tune of $12.5M for mobile ads

Omar Hamoui reports in his blog post, funds will be used to help AdMob “cement our leadership position by making the investments that will help us to come out of this challenging economic environment even stronger than when we went in.”
AdMob is already well known in the industry of mobile advertising. The company has been success in the nascent mobile advertising industry, and the company previously announced of having achieved profitability despite the deteriorating market condition. AdMob has reported of having served more than 60 billion ad impressions, served more than 50 campaigns for brand advertisers in December, and has more than 6,000 mobile web sites and 450 applications in its network.
AdMob has been very successful with their development of iPhone ad server and metrics for analysis. Recently, AdMob announced the releasing a similar offering for the Android phone.
AdMob funding round comes from DFJ, with Sequoia Capital, and Accel Partners participating as previous investors. AdMob has raised a total of $47.2M for the ad service and metrics firm.
