GoodmailSystems offers a safe and secure system for email raises $5M to deliver email.  Goodmail is the digital equivalent of certified mail.  In the digital age, users will; need to be more careful with sending sensitive communications through the internet and goodmail is working on the solution.  Goodmail Systes plans to use funds to develop its flagship product, CertifiedEmail, so that trusted messages containing multimedia and active content can be opened more safely.

Goodmail has partnered with top email providers in the US to secure mail platform involving encryption and demarked with goodmail icon.  Goodmail has an impressive client list of users including Wal-Mart, McKinsey and Dell to send billing and proprietary information securely.  Also Goodmail is targeting more social companies like non profits and NGO type organizations like Red Cross America, Care2, and similar organizations.  The potential for banking using more secure mail system is an enormous opportunity.  Goodmail may prove to be valuable in the micro finance space as well.

Goodmail has raised $5m and previously $20M from Bessemer Venture Partners, DCM, Emergence Caital Partners and Softbank Capital. Previously, it had raised $20 million over two rounds in 2005 and 2006. New investor in the round includes Omidyar Network, the investment firm started by eBay founder Pierre Omidyar.
