Facebook is Growing Like Crazy

Facebook is putting interesting stats on growth and number related toactive users 140M and 52,000 applications on the facebook platform. Much other growth is coming from overseas with 70% of the users outside of the US. Facebook is currently adding between 600,000 and 700,000 users per day, it is more likely to hit the 200 million mark in March, InsideFacebook predicts — up from 140 million this month. Also, Facebook has 15 million active mobile users using their site, having grown from only 5 million at the beginning of the year and will likely increase with new and existing users of the platform.
Facebook has become the number 1 photo sharing website with 700M photos uploaded each month. Facebook is set to surpass myspace as the most popular social network with 160M active users. Also, Facebook is gaining on Google on time spent on the Internet.
As result, Facebook is a better position to make money through adverting. Facebook has yet to find a model that is working to contribute advertising revenue in a major way. Facebook continues to experiment and is constantly making changes to the site. In the end, Facebook with large number of active users will benefit by having the best destination or hold a monopoly on social network with most active users for advertisers. In any case, things are looking quite good for the Facebook platform.
