Google has announced the launch of Google mobile apps for iPhone with voice enabled search.  The announcement on Friday had many excited and overly anxious technophiles desperately waiting for the release of the App by Apple iPhone App Store. The latest reporting is hopeful at best for the launch of the voice search application on Monday due to the lack of any confirmation.  The voice enabled search application is considered a killer app, if not a total game changer, and have many excited to get their hands on the app on the iPhone to test its capability.  Voice search technology has been held as a promise in the future, and will likely challenge existing voice technology such as TellMe which was acquired by Microsoft.  Google would be making serious strides in the field of voice recognition and search which are ideally suited for the mobile device and may make the key board issues less relevant.

Google mobile app for the iPhone bundles Google mobile apps onto the iPhone  for easy launch and access for multiple applications  and access to info held across different apps.  The Google mobile apples will allow you to speak to your apps such as search engine or simply looking up a contact to place a call.  The combination of voice search and location is one of the advantages of the app to find movies listings and/or find the closest pizza joint. The voice application would free up effort to type and reduce time required to move through application(s).

Voice has been difficult to handle due to common errors inherit with processing language and furthered by issues related to individual intonation differences.  Voice technology has relied on keywords and suggestions to eliminate some issues involved in voice processing.  Despite further advances the use of voice recognition has been used in limited capacity and niche applications.  The use of voice recognition can be very frustrating and annoying in ability to grasp language and tone and requires users to often repeat phrases and terms.  Some voice recognition applications requires training of the recognition engine to personalized to users voice and intonations and prove to perform well afterwards. Voice recognition holds a huge potential and applications in search that would unleash huge productivity in a wide variety of uses.

Google voice search will be tested on ability to deliver on the promise of true voice recognition and quality search results.  Google has an advantage with arguably the most effective general search engine and tons of user data to optimize search results for voice recognition capabilities.
