Facebook redesign the look of the site by making the site more feed friendly. TechCrunch has described the redesign to Friendfeedization. The goal is likely trying to achieve a more interactive post and comment use for greater social networking usage. It is more likely to benefit from a more mobile and real time aspects that users have adopted in services like Friendfeed and Twitter.

The company is holding its developer conference f8 which will likely announce new initiatives and integration with 3rd party applications. Facebook has announced the launching of Facebook Connect to allow application on Facebook such as id & friends under secured environment to run on any website. The company is moving towards a new direction from older Facebook page likely to deal with the heavier version prone to spam and aggressive 3rd party application that fills space and makes the site harder to manage against competition. The new design is taking advantage of the activity stream and micro posting that has been popularized with Fiendfeed and Twitter. Facbook is looking to fend off competition by opting their model and plans of further opening of facebook for a single stream of content to be shared through single source (facebook).
