Al Gore & the Carbon Free Life Style

Al Gore is going totally green in his dreams of a Zero Carbon energy powered nation. Al Gore is pitching the future of a Green powered existence away from Carbon based energy sources as coal, oil & gas. Al Gore plan is to accomplish the heroic and difficult task in 10 years. Al Gore evicted JFK in his triumphant effort in the US Space program getting a man into space and on to the Moon. Al Gore is proposing alternative sources of energy solar wind, etc to solve the nations expensive and environmental unfriendly dependence of expensive oil. The Gore plan includes investment to upgrade energy infrastructure to tune of $1.5t to $3T and the introduction of carbon tax offset by significant reduction in payroll tax.
Al Gore painted a dire situation in terms of outlook on the US and the energy problem.
The Green Scare
“The survival of the United States of America as we know it is at risk,” Mr. Gore said in a speech to an energy conference here. “The future of human civilization is at stake.”
The End of the Carbon Energy Age
The US economy grew with the rise of natural resource oil and gas has been discovered. Energy is an essential component of the economy and largely effect components of economic output. The rise of oil affects the most vulnerable portion of the population with rising costs of food and potential cause of social instability. The change necessary requires significant changing of thinking and behavior to progress the technology and infrastructure necessary for alternative sources to evolve as viable source of energy.
“Of course, there are those who will tell us that this can’t be done,” he conceded. “But even those who reap the profits of the carbon age have to recognize the inevitability of its demise. As one OPEC oil minister observed, ‘The Stone Age didn’t end because of a shortage of stones.’ ”
The US could benefit by leading the technological advances and the rapid growth of an industry that is likely benefit for increasing demand for energy to power the economies around the globe. The economic externalities that would result from the creative innovations would benefit in a similar fashion as commercialization from the technology for Space program. The US will need to invest in the future to upgrade of the infrastructure in order to maintain completive edge and a better to design to be more energy efficient economy.
The Push
The Alliance for Climate Protection, a bipartisan group Mr. Gore is involved in , estimates the cost of the plan to go entirely carbon-free electric US powered at approximately $1.5 trillion to $3 trillion, and said most of that investment could come from private sources with the right mix of government policies.
